Everyone is supposed to have a bucket list – a list of things you want to do before you can’t do things any more. And we’ve been lucky – for a variety of reasons, we’ve been able to do lots of things over the years, before we even knew what a bucket list. So we’ve decided to create a ‘reverse bucket list’, to document the things we’ve done, the places we’ve been, the people we met etc etc. It’s primarily for fun, and to remind ourselves of how fortunate we’ve been.

We’ve travelled the world for work and for holidays – that’s included working and filming in places as different as Jerusalem, New York, and Coventry; holidays from Hawaii to New Caledonia to Felixstowe; and experiencing different cuisines and cultures over a span of four decades.

And we’ve been so lucky to meet some remarkable people along the way – whether that be colleagues like Pam Rhodes and Thora Hird from our time with the BBC’s Songs of Praise or interviewees like Lord Attenborough or NZ PMs Helen Clarke, Jenny Shipley and John Key.
For all we are thankful – because our bucket list is already looking pretty full, but there’s always room for more.
